Science Tokyo GXI is a center of GX (Green Transformation) research and aims to contribute to the construction of a society that is in harmony with the global environment. We hope to contribute to the construction of a society that has hope for the future.

In order to realize the government policy of becoming carbon neutral (CN) by 2050, green transformation (GX) is essential.
The GX Initiative (Science Tokyo GXI) was conceived to promote research activities that will lead the GX society (Initiation), strengthen startups, and substantiate industrial and social collaboration, and will develop activities as part of the 2022 MEXT Education and Research Organization Reform min(Organization Development) Project. The project will be implemented as an educational and research organization reform (organization development) project of the MEXT in 2022.

Science Tokyo GXI is headquartered at Tokyo Institute of TechnologyInstitute of Integrated Research Laboratory for Zero-Carbon Energy and operates from Institute of Integrated Research.
Science Tokyo GXI will be supported by approximately 400 energy research faculty members in research institutes, academies, centers, and units for GX (Green Transformation) research, and 50 energy-related companies inherited from the Advanced Energy Systems International Research Center (AES) of the University of Tokyo. The platform will be linked to establish an industry-academia collaborative research support organization to promote and accelerate problem solving with the support of the Research and Industry Alliances Division and other organizations.
