Research Outline
We study phenomena related to heat transfer and mass transport in liquid metal fluids for energy conversion systems in fusion reactors and fast reactors. We are conducting experimental research on chemical coexistence between high-temperature liquid metal fluids and structural materials, and on techniques for controlling liquid metal flow. We are also developing seawater desalination technology by applying the inherent reactivity of liquid metal materials. Furthermore, we are conducting research on parabolic liquid mirrors that take advantage of the characteristics of liquids through collaborative research.
