Research Outline
GXI research in Otomo Laboratory is developing carbon recycling technology. A chemical loop method utilizing the redox reaction of metal oxide carriers enables the simultaneous separation of carbon dioxide without energy consumption in various energy conversion processes. By developing high-performance metal oxide carriers with ionic conductors, we are developing new systems that can simultaneously perform hydrogen production reactions, carbon dioxide separation, and power generation, as well as studying reaction processes related to carbon dioxide capture and reduction reactions. In addition, GXI research emphasizes social implementation through industry-academia collaboration, and through industry-academia collaborative activities, research and development is being conducted with the aim of developing methodologies to link basic science related to chemical reaction control and reactor design to social implementation.
