Carbon-Circulating Green Industrial System

As the first step of social implementation of GX technology for building a carbon neutral (CN) society, we are working on the idea of a carbon-circulating green industrial system. key materials for CN realization include carbon, hydrogen, iron, oxygen, and ammonia, and energy systems include nuclear energy, renewable energy, and energy transportation and storage.

In order to achieve zero carbon (ZC) in the steel industry, which accounts for 15% of Japan's CO2 emissions, we are focusing on the "carbon cycle" and introducing a group of demonstration test equipment to "achieve carbon-neutral steelmaking by using the CO generated from the min of CO2 by ZC energy to reduce iron oxide".

In the process, the raw iron oxide is reduced with CO, the resulting CO2 is recovered at high liquid temperature and transported, and then converted to CO as a resource by electric min CO2 using ZC energy, which is then returned to the steelmaking process. We aim to become carbon neutral through the direct contribution of ZC energy to manufacturing.
