Research Outline
To contribute to carbon neutrality, we are working on the development of carbon dioxide (CO2) recycling technologies. The laboratory is developing a metal-supported solid oxide cell (SOC) as a key technology for the efficient direct electrolysis of CO2. Electrolysis is possible by using SOCs. The use of a metal support is expected to enable the production of low-cost, large-area cells with excellent mechanical strength and resistance to thermal stress. On the other hand, the use of a metal support makes the conventional SOC manufacturing process inapplicable, and individual studies are required from the deposition of each layer to the metal corrosion resistance process.
