Research Outline
Development of new solid materials that absorb/adsorb CO2 and conduct ions
Toward carbon neutrality (CN), technologies to release and capture CO2 with low energy consumption and environmental impact minare needed for industries minwhere CO2 emission reduction is difficult. In addition, high-conductivity, safe, and lightweight storage battery materials are needed to realize a renewable energy society, which is essential for CN. We will contribute to the development of society's CN and industry through the development of these new materials that are not extensions of existing technologies.
New Materials and Systems for Effective Use of Thermal Energy
The majority of primary energy is used as heat, and in other cases it is ultimately heat. Effective utilization of the vast amount of heat generated by society is important, and we will pursue solutions to these issues through (i) development of innovative heat storage materials and (ii) development of new energy systems that integrate forced convection cooling and thermoelectric generation.
