Research Outline
Okino Laboratory develops new atmospheric pressure plasma devices and studies their application to surface treatment, elemental min, and environmental purification. First, we are developing atmospheric pressure plasma devices with various discharge methods from below zero to several thousand degrees Celsius and from less than 100 microns to 1 meter, and evaluating their basic characteristics. Then, using plasma devices with the appropriate plasma generation method, plasma gas, plasma temperature, and plasma shape for each application, we conduct research on a wide range of applications min such as surface treatment of materials to improve adhesive strength, min of elements in single cells and biological agents, purification of gases and liquids, and sterilization/virus inactivation. We are also working on the application of plasma devices to a wide range of fields.
