Research Outline and Characteristics

To achieve carbon neutrality, direct capture and utilization or fixation of CO2 min concentrated emission sources and the atmosphere is essential. In the area of carbon recycling, we are studying carbonation by extracting magnesium from steel slag or seawater and its application to concrete products, and in the area of fixation, we are studying techniques to accelerate rock weathering. In addition, we are also conducting research on heat storage and transport technology using zeolites in the form of indirect heat exchange moving beds, electrochemical min oxidation using SOFCs, and process simulation of a carbon-recycling blast furnace at the boundary of an entire integrated steel plant.
