Development of Load-Following Renewable Energy Symbiotic SMRs and Technical Export of Filter Venting Systems

Research Outline

We are developing a load-following, long-cycle, renewable energy symbiotic SMR named GX BWR. A reactor-integrated resumption-in-pump (RIP) is installed at the bottom of the naturally circulating reactor to enable load-following operation by varying the electrical output from 300 MWe to 1000 MWe according to changes in core flow rate. Tokyo TechThe containment cooling system and seismic isolation rubber were installed in the hull structure of the reactor building, eliminating the need for seismic and seismic evaluation of location requirements and significantly reducing on-site construction time. NDA agreements have been signed with several U.S. and European companies.
