Research Outline
Nuclear thermal hydraulics research for reactor sophistication and safety improvement
In addition to promoting research that contributes to reactor sophistication and safety improvement, we are developing new in-reactor flow measurement methods using ultrasonic waves, lasers, cameras, electrical characteristics, etc. Recently, we have been conducting research related to the development of next-generation nuclear reactors such as small modular reactors.
Establishment of a foundation for trans-challenge research toward the realization of a zero-carbon society through reconstruction studies
We have visited the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and nuclear disaster to conduct reconstruction activities and promote the development of industrial promotion technology, decommissioning research, and zero-carbon energy research with the aim of building a foundation for trans-challenge research toward the realization of a zero-carbon society through reconstruction studies.
