Research Outline

The elucidation of the basic operating principles of cellular systems is a common goal of the life sciences. At the foundation of the cellular system is an energy acquisition system, which is supported by productive forces (biosynthesis) that allow cells to grow and replicate, resulting in cell proliferation. I am studying how such a self-contained system is permanently maintained and how it becomes resilient to various environmental changes. The comprehensive understanding of cell regulation and environmental response in photosynthetic microorganisms and its application to algal biomass production are some specific examples of my research.
